Meet Missy Beehive

Missy Beehive grew up in Southern California, the daughter of singer/songwriter and 50’s pop icon Bruce Belland (Four Preps & The Adventures Of Ozzie & Harriet). As a child Missy was featured in dozens of television commercials and while still a teenager, moved to London where she formed Voice Of The Beehive with sister Tracey.

Voice Of The Beehive recorded 3 successful albums which generated nine top-40 hits in Europe, and their smash hit “Monster And Angels” went to #14 on the US charts. Additionally, the band produced 14 videos and toured the world for a decade. Today, Voice Of The Beehive is a featured artist at the Apple iTunes Music Store and their music is available digitally in several countries. In addition to their influential sound, Voice Of The Beehive was known for defining several fashion trends in London in the late 1980’s that included huge petticoats, oversized rhinestones, necklaces made from mini Oscar awards, tiaras, crowns, and ornate dresses made from exotic material like doll heads and credit cards. Melody Maker, the world's oldest weekly music newspaper published in the United Kingdom, described their look as “Astronauts Wives On Acid In The Latest Bohemian Trend”.

While on tour in Australia, Missy’s life changed forever when she discovered her first fairy and when Voice Of The Beehive disbanded, she returned to the California sun and decided to combine fairies and fashion and started her own company - aptly named Made In Heaven By Missy.

Since 1998, Missy’s booth at Laguna’s famed Sawdust Festival has featured her hand-made, one-of-a-kind fairies. Her treasures include pixies and fairies made from clay and porcelain draped in vintage heirloom fabrics, hand-made crowns & wands, and a line of jewelry and fairy clothing. Her booth has won several local awards for content and originality.

Missy finally decided to bring her lovely creations online after years of being asked "why don't you have a website". She had always been a wee bit leery of technology (most fairies are), but after sister Tracey got an iMac, Missy decided to take the tech plunge herself. Soon after, the Beehive catalog was brought online and she knew it was time to do the same for Made In Heaven. Finally, in a joyous twist of irony, after coming online, Yahoo Inc. and Ivanka Trump selected Missy’s site as a top-5 finalist in an American Idol type contest that was seeking unique small businesses to mentor. America voted for 10 days to help Yahoo select the top-3 businesses and from an original pool of over 10,000 entries, Made In Heaven was selected as one of 3 winners and received $40,000 in marketing support from Yahoo Inc.
