Pixie Information

Missy's pixies have been featured in Doll Reader Magazine and by design are created to have an earthy, natural, and disheveled look. These youthful free-spirited tricksters live in small villages and can be found in forests and jungles. They range in height from 4.5” to 6” in height. Their wingspans range from 2.5” to 4” and are made from a variety of material that includes feathers, cloth, and wire. Missy’s use of vintage and heirloom materials has become her trademark. She uses a variety of materials that include: satin, lace, velvet, gauze, marabou, silk, vintage paper flowers, vintage buttons and coins, vintage costume jewelry, multi-colored crystals, and real glass glitter.

These whimsical creatures are delicately handcrafted and each pixie is a one-of-a-kind work of art. Two pieces are never alike so each pixie pictured on the site is the one you’ll receive if purchased. She gets many requests to “recreate” something that’s been sold, unfortunately, because of the one-of-a-kind handcrafted nature of her pixies fairies this isn’t possible.

Her pixies are predominately housed in rich handcrafted accoutrements that include jeweled shells, vintage brass cups, elaborate jeweled fairy nests, jeweled pods, and antique silver spoons to name just a few. Her flying pixies come with either a gold stand that’s covered with a variety of natural mosses, seeds, and dried flowers or some type of natural swing.

These lovely young ladies can be posed and manipulated in a variety ways. They’re perfectly suited for young girls under 10 and are the perfect “first fairy”. They can be dusted with a soft brush or a quick blast of condensed computer keyboard air. Many people choose to cover their clay fairies with a glass dome or in a glass display case. Due to their ornate design they should not be considered a toy and are somewhat fragile. They range in price from $50 to $125.

Finally, Missy’s pixies are available exclusively through her website and the Sawdust Festival. They should be considered highly collectable and many have been featured in magazines, newspapers, and are featured in her line of fairy greeting cards.
